Position Type: Athletics/Activities/Activity Sponsor Date Posted: 5/29/2025 Location: Kearney High School Assistant Musical Director Job Title: Assistant Musical Sponsor Department: Activities Reports to: Activities Director & High School Music Director Classification: Exempt Summary Assistant Musical Director for Kearney School District. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists practices with a schedule of activities. Attends all rehearsals and performances. Reports any problems or concerns to the Head Music Director. Attends meetings as required by Activities Director. Assist in the care of equipment and facilities. Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress, and appropriate professional manner for the work setting. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. Adheres to good safety practices. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and polices. All other duties as assigned. Supervisory Duties None Qualifications Education/Experience Understanding of both vocal and instrumental stylings Understanding of how to lead pit band in musical theatre performances Certificates, Licenses, Registrations CPR and First Aid certified Missouri Teacher Certificate and/or DESE Substitute Certificate Skills and Abilities Computation The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job .
