Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant aids with the overall clerical functions of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with developing and administrating various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining department records and reports.
  • Completes data entry in the HR/Payroll system and updates spreadsheets/reports, as needed.
  • Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the recruitment process, including posting positions, advertising, contacting applicants and scheduling interviews.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating new hire processing and new hire orientation.
  • May be assigned to the coordination of Personal Care Attendants (PCA’s), including sourcing and onboarding procedures.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
  • Adhere to and support the center’s practices, procedures, and policies including assigned break times and attendance.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner; and perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Be flexible in schedule of hours worked.
  • May require use of personal vehicle.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED Certification required.
  • Minimum of one year administrative or clerical experience, preferably in the field of Human Resources.
  • An Associates level or Human Resources Certification preferred. Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
  • Demonstrated PC skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
