This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals starting their cybersecurity career to gain hands-on experience in security assessments while supporting federal government clients. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst will assist senior team members in: Supporting security control assessment activities Gathering and organizing assessment evidence Documenting security control implementation Conducting basic security testing and evaluations Assisting with vulnerability scans and analysis Supporting the creation of assessment reports Maintaining assessment documentation and tracking sheets Participating in security control interviews Helping to prepare assessment deliverables Learning and applying NIST security controls and frameworks Supporting continuous monitoring activities Assisting with security documentation review Contributing to Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) development Participating in team meetings and technical discussions Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 0-2 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology Internship or academic project experience in cybersecurity preferred Required Skills and Competencies: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts Knowledge of NIST frameworks and security controls Familiarity with common security tools and technologies Strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Basic technical writing abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures Eagerness to learn and develop professional skills Basic understanding of networking concepts Ability to work effectively in a team environment Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and security protocols Desired Skills and Competencies: Security+ certification or in progress Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Basic understanding of FISMA requirements Experience with vulnerability scanning tools Knowledge of basic scripting or programming Familiarity with cloud computing concepts Understanding of basic system administration Experience with documentation management systems Knowledge of compliance frameworks Basic understanding of security assessment methodologies Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices Experience with technical documentation Basic understanding of privacy principles Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy The company is an equal opportunity employer.
