Job Description Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Mountain View Technical Center in California at least three times per week, or as dictated by business needs. The Role You will be responsible for sourcing technology purchases (Software, SaaS, Infrastructure) regionally and globally. Your primary duties include developing, negotiating, and implementing sourcing strategies by collaborating with stakeholders in engineering, technology, IT, security, and legal. This involves preparing and presenting sourcing recommendations to management levels. Responsibilities Understand the automotive, software, and IT industries, including the future direction of GM software. Identify viable suppliers for technology needs. Develop global commodity strategies. Manage suppliers aligned with quality, service, technology, and pricing strategies, understanding deadlines, lead times, contracts, and application types. Engage with key stakeholders across engineering, IT, business units, legal, and security. Oversee annual renewal processes and deadlines. Follow corporate purchasing and accounting policies. Negotiate prices, terms, and complete contracts. Use global sourcing processes such as RFQ, quotation analysis, and source selection. Benchmark sourcing packages and participate in supplier KPI reviews. Compensation The salary range for this role is $98,900 to $158,000, with actual offers varying based on experience and other factors. Incentive pay is available based on company and individual performance. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in purchasing, program management, or product development. Project management skills. Understanding of licensing, legal, and technology concepts. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively. Negotiation skills and knowledge of software/technology markets. Analytical skills, including benchmarking. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with SAP or similar systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or IT. Experience with software or cloud services. Knowledge of software development and automotive industry experience.
