Staff Accountant Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger (GL) accounting, account reconciliations, and a solid understanding of government contracting, including cost principles and regulatory compliance (FAR, CAS, DCAA). Key Responsibilities : Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Prepare and post general ledger entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal controls specific to government contracting. Assist with audits, including DCAA and financial statement audits. Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management and compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with emphasis on reconciliations and GL accounting. Prior experience working for a government contractor is required. Familiarity with FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Experience with indirect rate structures and cost allocations. This is a full time position paying a base salary of $65,000, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
