Job Summary:
This role handles all duties associated with the auto lien process for the Credit Union. This i ncludes, but is not limited to, ensuring member information is added to the vehicle title, p rocessing collateral releases upon payoff, as well as reviewing and managing various reports associated with the loan and following up on needed items or discrepancies. In addition to processing and maintaining Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) records to ensure Credit U nion compliance, they are also responsible for validating the security interests of vehicle portfolios.
Essential Functions:
Assists members with out of state title transfers, including title applications and fees.
Prepares lien releases and adheres to each state’s guidelines and requirements.
Processes, pays, or rejects sight drafts for applicable states.
Performs title applications and fees by working directly with the state’s DMV.
Researches and works directly with dealerships and fi nancial institutions on lien discrepancies and title work.
Handles letters of guarantee for insurance companies as well as letters of permission requests for members.
Understands different asset collateral such as Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) to establish lien perfection.
Reviews incoming Electronic Lien Titles (ELTs) and paper titles to ensure accuracy and takes the necessary steps to correct when needed.
Addresses and resolves member questions, problems, or compla ints relating to vehicle liens .
Partners with the loss mitigation department to prepare title documentation for repossessed vehicles.
Performs other duties as assig ned.
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: At least two years of experience working in a financial institution preferred.
