Youth Director/Pastoral Assistant/Associate Pastor Job Description GREENFIELD BAPTIST CHURCH 9028 Williams Road North East, PA 16428 5610 814 725 4160 DEFINITION: This is a full-time professional position in children/youth/young adult ministry and Christian education. Work is performed under the supervision of the Pastor, with annual performance evaluations by the Pastor and the pastoral relations committee. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Youth Ministry: Ambition to lead a ministry with adolescents that nurtures youth toward Christian faith commitment and discipleship. Leadership Development: Ability to recognize and develop potential leaders and provide training opportunities. Education/Teaching/Preaching: Ability to plan and implement teaching based on sound theological, educational, and historical foundations; capable of adapting methods and materials for different learners. Evangelism: Ability to lead individuals to make decisions for Christ and encourage their participation in the church. Program Development: Skills to design and implement organizational, educational, religious, recreational, and social programs for youth. Spiritual Life Development: Ability to guide individuals or groups in understanding and enhancing their spiritual lives. Conflict Management: Skill in resolving conflicts within the church community. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Develop and promote a balanced youth ministry and Christian education program for children in grades Pre K-6, 7th-12th, and young adults. Coordinate and participate in church services, meetings, camps, retreats, and special events. Recruit and train adult advisors. Assist in pastoral duties focusing on children, youth, young adults, and their families. GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS: The successful candidate will: Desire to help individuals commit to Christ. Strive to exemplify the Christian faith in word and deed, fostering a positive and inviting ministry. Seek to strengthen the spiritual growth of children, youth, young adults, and their families. Become a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. Participate in Sunday School, Wednesday Nights, Worship Services, and assist with communion and preaching when requested. Make a minimum three-year commitment to the church. Attend and report to church boards and meetings. Pass background checks, child abuse clearances, FBI fingerprinting, drug testing, and complete mandated reporter training. QUALIFICATIONS: A calling to youth ministry or a related field. Preferred two years of experience working with youth/children/young adults, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Salary ranges from $30,000 to $40,000 depending on experience, plus a parsonage, utilities, benefits, and insurance coverage.
